Logging Into UAOnline:

  1. Using a compatible browser (see compatibility list under Global Account Usage and Information), go to http://uaonline.alaska.edu.
  2. Click on the Login to Secured Area (students, staff, & faculty) link.
  3. Enter your User ID.
    • Your User ID will be your 8-digit Student ID or Employee ID.
    • If you forget your ID, you can look it up here.
    • For additional assistance, contact your Human Resources Office or local campus Enrollment Services, Registrar, or Admissions Office (see contact numbers to the left).
  4. Enter your PIN (Personal Identification Number).
    • When you sign on to the web for the first time, you will be asked to change your PIN to another 6-character value different from your date of birth.
    • Your Student PIN (if not an employee) is 6 characters and is originally set to your date of birth (MMDDYY).
    • If you are an employee, you will have received your PIN in the mail.
    • PINs are case-sensitive and can be alphanumeric, including spaces and punctuation.
    • Date of birth will not be accepted as a new PIN.
    • Resetting your PIN is required to ensure added security to accessibility of your account information.
    • For your privacy and security, please do not share your PIN or security information with anyone.
  5. Click the Login button.
  6. If this is your first time logging in, you will also be asked to create a security question and answer that will assist you in the future if you forget your PIN.
  7. Due to the sensitive nature of the information contained on these pages, persons using shared workstations are required to log off and exit the browser when using UAOnline.

Forgot Your PIN?

  1. Using a compatible browser (see compatibility list under Global Account Usage and Information), go to http://uaonline.alaska.edu.
  2. Click on the Login to Secured Area (students, staff, & faculty) link.
  3. Enter your User ID.
  4. Leave the PIN blank.
  5. Click the Forgot PIN? button.
  6. You will then be required to answer the security question you created the first time you logged in and to choose a new PIN number to gain access to UAOnline.
    • If you are not prompted with a security question or if you do not answer the question correctly, please contact your Human Resources office (if you are an employee) or your local campus Enrollment Services, Registrar, or Admissions Office (if you are a student).

Updating Information in UAOnline:

  1. For navigation and configuration support, contact the Statewide Help Desk.
  2. To submit comments or suggestions regarding the web access services, please use the Employee or Student Feedback options available from the main web entry page of UAOnline.
  3. To update personal information or report inaccurate information on the Student Services, Financial Aid & Account Information pages, contact your local campus Enrollment Services, Registrar, or Admissions Office (see contact information to the left).
  4. To update personal information or report inaccurate information on the Employee Services pages, individuals may contact their local campus Human Resources Office (see contact information to the left).

Global Account Usage and Information:

  • Individuals utilizing the UAOnline site must access the site using one of the following compatable browsers:
    Windows
    • Netscape 6.2.x and 7.1
    • Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 and 6.0 with the latest security patch
    Macintosh OS X
    • Netscape 7.1
    • Internet Explorer 5.2.3
    Macintosh OS 9
    • Netscape 6.2.x and 7.02
    • Internet Explorer 5.1.7
  • All employees and students of the University of Alaska System will have the ability to access their personal information via the UAOnline site.
  • Employee web information may be viewed, but not updated, via the web at this time. Instructions on updating employee information are available at locations throughout the site.
  • Please be aware that many links within the UAOnline pages lead to other University and non-University sites. Use the "BACK" button in your web browser to return to the UAOnline pages.
