Usermin - Vacation Message

Setting Up Your Vacation Message in Usermin

1. Access your Email account online, and login to Usermin:
Log in to your account on-line by entering one of the following URLs in your web browser window:

http://fnabc.email.uaf.edu

https://fnabc.email.uaf.edu

where "fnabc" is replaced with your user name.

Your browser may, in some cases, have security settings which result in error messages when you use the first URL listed above. In this case, you would then use the second URL beginning with "https" to resolve this.

In both cases you will reach a simple web page that contains a Usermin link and a Webmail link. Click on the Usermin link and the login page will appear where you will then enter your username and email password, as shown below:

2. Click Mail on the Main Usermin Toolbar

To acces Vacation Message feature, click on the Mail Button

3. Click on the Vacation Auto-Reply button.

From the Mail options, click on Vacation Auto-Reply

4. Type in your vacation message in the Message Body. You may add Subject and From text if you wish.

5. When you are done, click on the Enable Vacation button.
Before you log out of Usermin, be sure to verify your vacation message is setup correctly (next step).

To activate your Vacation Message, click on the Enable Vacation button

6. To verify your vacation message setup:
After you've enabled the vacation message, you may click on the Mail option on the main Usermin toolbar (OR you may select the Return to index link and then click Mail). Under the Mail option you will select the Mail Forwarding button.

7. Under Mail Forwarding, check that your vacation message is enabled. The screenshot below shows that a vacation message is enabled for an account which does not have email forwarding set up.

If your account does have an email forward set, you may also verify the correctness of that email forward while checking that your vacation message is enabled. In this case, your screen would look similar to the one below:

8. You're done. Click on the Return to Index link and Log Out of Usermin or proceed to other tasks within the program.

Now you may perform other Usermin options, or if you are finished, be sure to log out.

9. When you return from vacation, log back in to Usermin following the same steps as above, but click on the Disable Vacation Message.

When you return from vacation, log back in and select Disable Vacation button
