Username and Password discussion
Username: WG would like to forward this suggested format to the technical group: jkstormer (initialinitiallastname). Easy to remember and easy to instruct others to use.
Password: Suggested the use of “strong” passwords.
Need the password reset to be accessible at all hours and meet the special needs of rural students (current process for resetting uaonline doesn’t work well for rural students)
Content Planning
Define scope & definition for each tab and default channels
Systemwide Technical working group decided to create a scoping outline and that document is still under development.
Work group's input will be needed to help fill out the form
Library Channel update
Ilana has prepared a list of content for library channels. Which will be the default? Will depend on single sign-on availability.
Channel Prioritization
Reviewed SW draft channel development matrix. Will all of these be completed for the rollout? Suggest moving Welcome/Help up to #4.
3rd party software needs for single sign on summary and brainstorm for more software
Discussed list. Need to add library databases. Need to test VPN. E-Res? Add banking access, access to enterprise directory.
Tutorial tab – summary of email discussion and update from the Coordinating team
Like NAU (http://www4.nau.edu/portal/help/tutorial.asp) model, more like a
tutorial than the current tutorial tab on myUA.
Suggest swapping title of “Tutorial” tab with “help” tab.
Content Planning update from members
Did not discuss.
Communication Plan updates
Members were asked to review the communication plan distributed. Anything amiss?
Tim Stickel OK’ed portal info in class schedule.
Gretchen will add it to the 2005-06 UAF catalog.
Scott OK’ed adding to staff orientation. Heather will call HR re: empl orientation (Rhonda Portels?)
Presentations (tentative): (message: portal is coming!) Handouts: flyer. Tom Moyer would like to attend presentations.

SCT Training Summary
Casey Baber, Larisa Brunsdon, Heather Havel, Gretchen King, Susan Gibson, Jayne Harvie attended portal training for 3 days in October.
Useful, but too early and could have been done in 2 days.
Also several decisions should have been made before this training.
