      Blackboard homepage blurb

Approved: “Curious about the myUA portal? One username, one password for accessing online student and employee services.”

Discussed where to link. WG agreed that neither the UAF WG website nor the SW portal website works. The PDF of the flyer would work better, but it needs to be html-ized. Jackie agreed to call Kate Ripley at SW and discuss the need for a general info portal website. In the meanwhile, Ilana volunteered to put the flyer online as an html file so the link can be added to the Blackboard page.

      Pilot recruitment update

          Heather has collected:

         42 staff names (needs 25)

         13 Faculty (needs 25)

         9 students (needs 50)

Discussed ways to get more participation, particularly students.

WG members will try to recruit student workers.

Heather will e-mail Faculty Senate and ASUAF, clubs listserv, others.

Heather will check with Career Services about participating in next week’s Job Fair.

   ITC decisions

Mike Bates strongly recommended UA ID numbers because of Banner programming time constraints. MyUA will be using the UA ID numbers for user “name”.

MyUA will be using Edir for authetication (checking to see if password and user name is correct).

      Marketing/Communications committee update

Jackie updated the WG on the meeting held Dec. 21, 2004.

SW has resources for newspaper ads in student newspapers, planned in fall 2005.

Kate R. at SW volunteered to produce a brochure. “part marketing strategy, part portal 101.” MAUs will get a chance to review draft of the brochure. MAus will be asked to determined distribution.

Kate Wattum at SW wants to get with the web coordinators from each MAU that will be creating channels. Gave her these names: Gretchen King and Heather Havel. May give her more names after we have a better idea of the scope of this group.

Three versions of myUA portal banners were distributed for review by the group.

Kate R. will chair the committee.

Meet once a month, next meeting in February.

      Communication Plan updates

See http://www.alaska.edu/myua/myua-uaf/documents/OP-Comm-Training-Action%20Plans.pdf for the latest version of the Communication Plan.

      Training plan

The WG did not think formal training was needed for the pilot. Heather will field phone calls from UAF pilot participants (pending coordination with Tom Moyer). Ilana volunteered to help if needed.

      Next meeting
