Updates
Steve Smith gave technical signoff March 28. He suggests the portal not be marketed until April 12 due to OIT staffing concerns. SW is planning to market the portal to SW employees beginning April 12. Discussed April 17 as possible date for UAF to begin marketing the portal.
Heather went through UAF list of items UAF provided which must be completed before rollout. The following still need to be completed:
● UA Username and myUA password delivery--will not be done for spring rollout
● MyUA procedures and workflows, group request form - in development
● MyUA brochure printing (see below)
● Chancellor’s signoff (will be accomplished when chancellor signs off on e-mail to UAF faculty, staff and students introducing use of the portal - chancellor is reviewing).
● E-mail channel on the myUA tab - will be moved to the bottom of the tab
● Channels in “top 40” list not completed:
- Channel guides – waiting on technical issues
- Campus locator map – Wakefield’s group working on
- Weather channel – waiting on technical issues
Heather created a myUA display for Internet2Day March 23. Jackie Stormer, Hild Peter and Heather staffed the myUA table in the Great Hall during the event.
The UAF myUA flier was updated and 100 color copies were printed for use during Internet2Day and as a take-away at other presentations. A PDF of the flier will also be posted on the myUA UAF Working Group web page. There was discussion about possibly revising the flier for use as an easy-to-print e-mail attachment.
Review Brochure
● Improved over last draft
● Use consistent fonts and sizes
● Add a screen shot of the portal
● Make colors match the portal itself
● Recommend putting on the web and include a print-friendly version that can be e-mailed and posted as a PDF for printing
● Needs to be more engaging, more interesting visually
● Drop people in myUA on the inside
● In addition, suggestions for copy changes will be consolidated and provided to the Communications Committee April 7
