You may have heard a lot of stories about college. Sometimes, it can be hard to separate the myths from the facts. Read the statements below and see if you can find the one that is most true.
1 College can be stressful, but there is always help available. After all, college is about the students and we want you to have everything you need to be successful.
2 College is just another excuse to party!
3 College classes are so hard that you spend all of your time studying. Do not expect to be eating, sleeping, or socializing for at least four years.
4 Do not expect any help from your professors, because all of your classes will be in stadium sized classrooms with 300 other students.

Scholarships and grants are a great way to pay for college. You may think that a great grade point average is the only way to receive a grant or scholarship; however academics are just one of the criteria used to award students. What other criteria is involved?
  1 Life experience
  2 Financial need
  3 Athletic ability
  4 All of the above

How well do you know your campus mascots? Choose the correct campus/mascot series.
1 UAF Nanooks, UAA Whales, UAS Bears
2 UAF Kittens, UAA Snails, UAS Pigs
3 UAF Nanooks, UAA Seawolves, UAS Humpbacks
4 UAF Grizzlies, UAA Huskies, UAS Dolphins

During the cold days of winter, most people stay locked up indoors or inside running cars with heaters turned up to full-blast. You notice that your college classes are in several different locations on campus and you do not have a car to drive from building to building. How can you stay warm?
1 Only take classes that are in the same building.
2 Lock yourself in your dorm room wrapped up in blankets
3 Take the shuttle. Each shuttle hut is heated, so you can stay warm while you wait for your ride.
4 Wear lots and lots of layers! You may be sweating in class, but at least you’ll be warm outside!

Do you feel like you are the only student having trouble paying for college? Feel like you are admitting defeat by applying for financial aid? Well, more students may be receiving tuition assistance than you think. What percentage of students would you guess are receiving some type of financial aid?
1 10% seems about right. I am sure most parents are much more prepared than mine and started saving 18 years ago.
2 20% and that is my final answer because most college students either have rich parents or are working their way through.
3 30%, because those are either the super smart students on academic scholarships or the sports all-stars on athletic scholarships.
4 Definitely over 50%. How else would one pay for college?
