Grants
Angus Gavin Migratory Bird Research Grant
The Angus Gavin Migratory Bird Research Grant was established in 1981 with a generous gift from the Atlantic Richfield Company to honor Mr. Gavin. Angus Gavin, a zoologist and engineer, studied the fragile environment of Alaska’s North Slope as an environmental advisor to ARCO.
The University of Alaska Foundation is no longer accepting proposals for the 2008 Angus Gavin Memorial Bird Research Grant. Please check back in the fall of 2008 for the 2009 field season application.
Awards
Harold T. Caven Professorship
The Harold T. Caven Professorship was established in 1974 with a generous gift from Mrs. Loretta Caven. Dr. Caven was a longtime Alaskan who first came to the state in 1943. He served as a Director and a Vice President of First National Bank of Anchorage.
The University of Alaska Foundation is no longer accepting proposals for the Harold T. Caven Professorship for 2007. Please check back in the fall of 2009.
Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence
The Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence was established in 1988 with a generous gift from the late Edith R. Bullock, who was a member of Alaska’s Territorial House of Representatives, Territorial Senate, the University Board of Regents, Alaska Business Hall of Fame and an Alaskan of the Year.
The University of Alaska Foundation is no longer accepting nominations for the 2008 Edith R. Bullock Prize for Excellence. Please check back in the fall of 2008 for the 2009 nomination material.
