Mission

To identify and prioritize database projects for the UA system to support and enhance the overall development objective.

Assignments

Investigate and recommend implementations of alerts, dashboards, tracers, data integrity reports, and the membership module

Policy and procedural issue items

a. Focus on data integrity matters as outlined in the initial report
b. Focus on creating standardized reports
c. Analyze current student/parent records in Banner

Goals

1. Communicate with the work group as a whole at least 1 time per month via audio, with additional emails, as required
2. Include non-team members as needed, such as Data Specialists from UAA, to provide expertise and insight to help the work group to meet our mission
3. Involve other Work Groups, as appropriate, for issues that overlap groups
4. Prioritize objectives by 6/30/08
5. Develop a timeline for implementation by 7/31/08
6. Implementation of goals by 12/31/08

Initial Recommendations (Non-prioritized):

Alerts
When a major donor dies, moves, or gives a large amount of money, the system should notify the assigned development officer of this event.

Dashboards
The Vice Chancellors for Advancement can have a dashboard showing the current results and DO progress for their campus. Development Officers can have information about their top donors/prospects and their current task list whenever they sign onto the system.

Tracers
Address changes posted to the system should generate a tracer or mini-survey to be sent to the constituent to see if there is other information changed (marital status, employment, phone numbers, email, etc.).

Date Integrity Reports
There are a variety of data integrity checks (e.g., degree with no grad year, home address in one state and business address in another, potential duplicate records, etc.) that can be programmed to run regularly to help improve and maintain data quality.

Membership Module
This is functionality that could benefit the individual campuses, as well as the Museum of the North. It may only require some training to begin using this. Also involve the Training task Force in this work.

Create Standardized Reports

Analyze Current Student/parent Records in Banner

Develop a Program to Begin Adding More Records to Raisers’ Edge
