What is February FAFSA Frenzy?

FEBRUARY - University of Alaska officially recognizes February as Financial Aid Awareness Month.

FAFSA - It's all about the FAFSA! Students are encouraged to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the end of February.

FRENZY - The Frenzy is a series of events and trainings around the campus and the community during February.

UA provides a TREASURE TROVE of financial aid

The University of Alaska awards $102 MILLION in financial aid each year, including $14 million in scholarships and $13.5 million in grants.

  • Look around you - one out of every two University of Alaska undergraduates is on financial aid.
  • Over 3,000 students at UA receive the Pell Grant.
  • The State of Alaska, through the Alaska Commission on Postsecondary Education, will provide a cool half million in need based grants next fall that will range from $500-$2000 per student.
  • The Federal government provides need based grants to UA students to the tune of $13.1 million a year at single payouts of $200-$4310 per student.
  • And, remember, the early bird gets...the money. Certain grant funds are limited, and qualified applicants that apply early stand the best chance to receive that money.

How do I join the Frenzy?
